Unfortunately, not all cats are nice, and the Cat Mask Seller is one of the most evil cats in anime. He takes advantage of a young girl's feelings and broken heart and coerces her into becoming a cat forever, while he takes her human mask away, leaving Miyo stuck in a cat form.
Miyo ends up severely hurt due to the Cat Mask Seller's actions, who later refuses to turn her back into a human. He continues to act despicably as he traps Miyo and Hinode, trying to take their lifespan for his sake. His selfish and deceptive nature makes him an excellent villain cat.

Jiji is loyal to Kiki and even goes above and beyond for her when she is in a bind. Jiji acted as a plushy for a delivery order, till Kiki found the real black cat stuff toy that she lost on her first job. While Kiki is feeling very overwhelmed throughout the movie trying to get used to her surroundings, her furry friend is devoted to her.

Haru also expresses his loyalty when it tries to protect Haru from the ghosts that only the cat can see. However, Haru can sometimes end up causing inconveniences to Subaru, while trying to take care of him.
